همسر مناسب براي دوشيزگان، بركت و افزايش رزق و روزي، مسكن، فرزند و سفر حج از جمله آرزوها و خواسته‌هاي اصلي غالب حاضران و حاجتمندان است. در اين آيين دوشيزگان شيرازي روي منبر چوبي و تاريخي مسجد، گردو مي‌شكنند سپس مغز گردوها را همراه با آجيل خيرات مي‌كنند و پوست گردوها را در آب روان مي‌ريزند؛ بنا به باور قديمي‌ها حتي انتخاب گردو هم براي خودش فلسفه‌اي دارتد.

بانواني كه جهت طلب فرزند آمده‌اند با دوخت لباس نوزاد يا ساخت عروسك و اسباب بازي، از خداوند فرزند طلب مي‌كنند.
گروهي هم كه اكثرا بانوان بالاي 40 سال هستند با دوخت چادر يا لباس احرام براي خود يا همسرانشان در اين مكان مقدس، از خداوند سفر معنوي حج مي‌خواهند.

يكي از بانوان مشغول دوختن كيسه‌هاي كوچك است او ليستي را به من نشان مي‌دهد و مي‌گويد اينها همه دوستان و آشناياني هستند كه از من خواسته‌اند در اين مسجد به نيت انها اين كار را انجام دهم.
